WASC accreditation - What it means for the future of our students
We’re excited to share news that directly impacts our students’ education and career: OpenClassrooms has received initial accreditation from the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).
When you’re seeking to further your education, accreditation is an important factor to consider. It’s an indicator that the institution meets standards for high academic quality, program integrity and student outcomes. WASC is one of the top accrediting bodies in the country, known for certifying institutions like Stanford and Caltech. This recognition confirms that the education of our students meets the highest standards and adds value to their degree in the job market.
It's another step forward in our mission to make education accessible to all.
How this changes what OpenClassrooms offers to its students
College degrees: They earn an Associate, Bachelor’s or Master's degree recognized nationwide by employers, universities, and professional organizations.
Introducing the Registered Apprenticeship Degree: We’re the first to offer Registered Apprenticeship Degrees in IT and Business Services, allowing our students to earn a market wage, gain real-world job experience, and graduate debt-free with a degree.
An accelerated path to a career: They earn up to 60 credits in just 12 months through a streamlined, competency-based curriculum, getting you into your next role faster.
“This initial accreditation takes us one step further in proving there’s another way — where learners can earn a market wage and a degree while working, gaining real-world experience, and connecting with employers who value their skills.”
Pierre Dubuc, Co-founder and CEO of OpenClassrooms.
Is this program for you?
At OpenClassrooms, we've always believed that you shouldn't have to choose between a job and a degree. Our "earn and learn" model is designed for working adults, career changers, and caregivers.
With our Registered Apprenticeship Degrees, you can:
Graduate without debt: Paid apprenticeships cover your costs while you study.
Gain hands-on experience: Apply your newly acquired skills in the workplace as you learn.
Start your future: Graduate with both a respected degree, a strong professional network, new in-demand skills, and on-the-job experience.
This accreditation unlocks even more opportunities for us to serve our students. We’re launching our programs in specific states, with more states to follow in the coming months.
